MEET TARIEN

I’ve always found peace in creating worlds beyond reality. The art of worldbuilding allows me to escape into places filled with wonder, emotion, and imagination, and through writing, illustration, and design, I bring those worlds to life for others to escape into too. Whether through stories, characters, or visual art, everything I create is rooted in the magic of storytelling. I’ve been this way since I was young. I loved making up characters I could talk to that no one else could see (Yes I know it sounds mental) but I always lived in the in between space of real and imagined.

My reading journey only started much later which then kick started my very early writing hobby. I was so inspired my father bought me my first mini laptop because I was burning through enough paper to probably cause a global tree shortage (I don’t know if it was that bad) But when I opened that first word document the words flowed without restraint. Because my imagination was pure and my need for perfection not yet instilled so I wrote, with all the horrible spelling and child like phrases.

Then life happened, I grew up and stopped believing in fairies (Peter pan would be horrified). I picked it up a couple of times but had to let it go as adulting usually gets in the way, or so we tell ourselves.

So it hit me when I was 28 that I wanted to prove a point to everyone who said it was stupid to be a writer, a fool’s dream. Before I turned 30, I wanted to be published. And I did. I made it! And this is only the beginning of my journey.
